[TIP] Making sliced samples play in order without small pauses in-between
I've been playing with slicing and sampling on Maschine, and I think this trick applies to other DAWs as well from my experiments, but here's what's worked for me.
I had a sample which I had previously edited to be easy to slice into 32 sections of equal length at 110 BPM. When I used the slice tool in Maschine, it mapped each of those slices to a note on the keyboard and made a pattern where each of those notes corresponding to the slices were played in order, as expected.
When played back, however, the slices seemed to have audible portions of silence between them, as though something cut off each slice at its beginning or end a bit. I had messed with the slicing parameters as well as the sampler settings to no avail: each time the slices sounded like they had a small pause. I even tried slicing in other DAWs and found a similar issue.
The workaround was to simply raise the BPM of the project by a small amount: in my case, I raised it by 2BPM. Now my 110BPM sample played without any gaps on the 112BPM project by simply overlapping a bit. I imagine there's other workarounds like adding a bit of reverb to the sample, but this one was the easiest to immediately apply.
Also, if it helps, keep in mind I kept the sample type as One-Shot in its Pitch/Gate settings.

Re: Coming up next for MASCHINE and MASCHINE+
Thanks for the update.
One thing it really bothers me is that from day one they promised more effects and instruments to be compatible. I think I wasn't the only one which was expecting more of the komplete instruments and effect become compatible with time.
And not talking about creating new interments like polysynth which feels to me like reinventing the wheel (super 8??).
But simply make the ones that already exist compatible with maschine plus like komplete 13, like kontakt libraries, massive, replica, guitar rig...
At this point I lost my confidence on that the compatibility list will ever grow.
So NI created a new standalone maschine that people was already waiting for years, and from day one that only runs 10 per cent of the ni effects and instruments? In a way, it could be considered 10 times worst than the mk3?
Is anybody else bothered about this?

A few words on the new Kontakt 6.7.0 update
We're happy to release today a new major update for Kontakt. Find below a couple of words from the Kontakt team.
The long awaited ARM compatibility version of Kontakt is here!
You can now run Kontakt natively on Silicon in Standalone mode and as a plugin in all DAW’s that currently support ARM.
Kontakt is now also compatible with macOS 12 (Monterey) and Windows 11.
While working on the compatibility we took the opportunity to make significant changes in the Kontakt codebase. This resulted in fixing a lot of user facing bugs but also in improving a lot of things under the hood.
Additionally, this release expands the sonic capabilities of the platform with the addition of 2 new bass amplifiers from Guitar Rig (Bass Pro & Bass Invader) that are modelled using award-winning techniques. Bass Pro delivers that gritty, growling sound and Bass Invader gives everything you need to make low end sounds and get that classic 90s British indie flavour.
Feel free to check the detailed changelogs in our official update status 👈

Re: Coming up next for MASCHINE and MASCHINE+
I can confirm this again and again. We're always being told to stop releasing content to focus on development but one has literally no connection with the other.
As a matter of fact, we should probably do more content 😇

Re: Coming up next for MASCHINE and MASCHINE+
Would it be possible to add a feature where one could import or make our own custom chord sets? This would be real game changer.

Re: Maschine 2: Piano roll preview when moving/dragging notes or events
Hello,
I think he asks to have previews of the notes when you click or move a midi event on the piano roll in Maschine software.
It's quite useful when dragging notes with the mouse. It is true that it's present almost everywhere in audio softwares.
I can understand why it is not present on maschine, it can be annoying for live, because you don't want to hear your whole range if you move things on the fly. However, in a production context, it's very useful, unless you always hum all your notes and have them in your head all the time.
It would be nice to have an on/off option.

Re: Coming up next for MASCHINE and MASCHINE+
Guys, I am following this diligently, but tbh I don't really understand what's the topic of this thread any longer. Sure, we are discussing what each of us wish was to come for Maschine, but as anyone can see it is widely divergent in this thread alone and this is not a feature request survey.
I agree with most of the observations @D-One made and also that we are seeing updates now which predominantly exist to solve problems for M+ users. You could even argue that Clips was already a feature that was only there to solve a problem people had with Maschine's non-linear approach in general.
In my opinion, what the communication between NI and users most urgently needs is a structured way of publishing roadmaps that look further ahead than a few weeks. No more guessing, no FUD, you can look stuff up and if your pet peeve is nowhere on the list you know where you're at. Before that happens you would have to have a platform for dealing with requests, analyzing them, prioritize them - and all of that accessible. Even if they wanted this to happen, now, it would take months to set this up.
So, me personally for now, I basically just take Maschine as it is. Granted, I am quite happy with it. I work with Maschine since 2018 and not even once did I check the name of any pattern, brackets or no. What confuses the hell out of me, otoh, is that the Maschine Jam is the only controller who mirrors the main and central narrative of Maschine's GUI, namely the pattern view. It is there in the software, but on the flagship controllers, it is nowhere to be found - instead, in each group there is an isolated list of patterns which follows a completeley different sorting order and placement. I never saw anyone talk about it, but I find this bonkers.
So, all in all, I would say let's take what we get for now, wait a few months and see what happens.

I only have one question: what were the results on the previous surveys?
Why another one? You know what users want. Users don't. Make it public, please.

Re: Future Maschine Studio MK2?
I think "No", there will be no Studio sized controllers in the foreseeable future, huge controllers just aren't as popular nowadays as we move more and more towards portability friendly devices.
Personally, I have no interest in a Studio sized controller but I would love to have a module/extension that would fit right next to the MK3/M+ and added extended functionality to dedicated functions, especially since those cant really be MIDI mapped in Maschine for the most part. It could be the same thing as a Studio MK2 just without having to fully buy a whole new device, sell the old one etc...
