Re: User Reaktor ensembles on Maschine+ Standalone
Yes, Reaktor is a great addition to M+. I have been messing with building and modding ensembles for M+ use and have learned to deal with most of the challenges in porting ensembles to M+ so far.
Here's some of my findings which might be of interest:
• For maximum compatibility with M+, it is best to build ens files with the same version of Reaktor desktop as the Maschine+ version. Currently this version is 6.4.3., but this will change to 6.4.4. once the next Maschine+ OS update is released (betatesters of 1.4 already have Reaktor 6.4.4 running on their M+s)
• Getting parameter ID's through to Maschine, ID numbers of all parameters should be kept below 100. Reordering Reaktor ID's is a PITA but this must be done if you want the parameters accessable in M+. I'm not sure if only Automation ID's are relevant, but I've used the same ID's for both File ID's & Automation ID's, just to be sure.
• You need to use Maschine desktop for "tidying up" your ensembles. Once you are ready to deploy your ens to M+, open your ensemble in Maschine desktop, then click the "Pages" button (its below the "Automation" button next to a sound's paramters). Begin by deleting all parameter pages and clearing all assignments, this gets rid of all the mess. Next, start adding in your ensemble's parameters with the LEARN function. Create any relevant subpages so as to group the encoder banks in a way which makes the most sense for your ens (don't be afraid to leave gaps in the encoder rows if a particular page makes sense with less than 8 encoders). Finally, Create labels to your parameter pages by double clicking on the fields above the parameter knobs on the screen. These labels can be longer than the names of the controls, you can preview how the labels look by temporarily going into "Automation".
• If a specific parameter name looks weird in Maschine, you can make "aliases" of the parameter names via Reaktor. In the inspector pallette, go to the "Connect" tab, at the bottom in the section called "AUTOMATION" there is a field called "Custom Parameter Name": type in the new name for the parameter and it should immediately update in Maschine.
• Once you have tidied up the parameters, and laid everything out nicely on the param pages with sensible labelling, you need to save the reaktor as a Maschine sound. After this, you can quit Maschine desktop, Open up Reaktor, and load in that Maschine sound preset you just saved. Now, resave your snapshot and resave the ensemble, the snapshot you resaved will now have all the parameter mappings embedded you just created in Maschine.
• After all this, just copy the ens file to your SD card and you should be done!
PS: Make sure your ens build is located at the topmost level of the ensemble! Otherwise it will not load in M+
Also, consider adding event smoothers to parameters which intoduce glitching when modulated/automated in M+
Re: Maschine 2.15 is out!
Sorry, can't hold this in: what an absolute mess! I would be totally ashamed if i was managing this from a product or engineering perspective.
It's gotten to the point where i don't even dare to upgrade the software, as I don't trust the engineering and QA departments of NI anymore. There's just to much loose ends and illogical things going on.
Not to mention the "cancel culture" tendencies starting to appear here on the forum: if you are (too) critical, you're creating a "toxic atmosphere" and the thread is locked/post is deleted. Yeah, let's all celebrate each other for another job well done, and keep on doing what we do, and remove any critical voices, as it's not fun to listen to. Only positive news please!
Pathetic, and shameful. Sorry, cannot give another conclusion for this cluster-f.

I made a mockup of what a modular Kontrol may be. Here are some pics:

@tetsuneko and all other users that want to downgrade to Maschine 2.14.7 in order to keep their Maschine and Maschine Plus in sync, here are the installers:
Re: Best place to learn music production?
My best place to learn music production? Simple: my home studio.
The main problem with tutorials in general today, IMO, is that the focus is nearly always on self promotion rather than education. "Please don't forget to leave a like and...", dude; why would I bother with any of that considering that you haven't even taught me one. single. thing. yet because the video just started?
Not to mention that it has become my experience so far that many "tutorials" only teach you to perform tricks, they don't necessarily explain the basics to you so that you can invent your own tricks.
Now... sure, maybe I've become a bit (too?) skeptic after being active within this amazing world for over 10 years now. I cannot rule out personal bias here, fair enough. But still... if there's one thing I've learned over the years it's that "the Props" aka Propellerheads were darn right with their message when Reason 6 got released: "When it comes to self expression, there are no rules; no right or wrong. We're artists first: creators that follow instinct and inspiration."
Be YOU. But most of all: don't be afraid to make mistakes and get rejections, which I think is one of the real underlying issues here. Sure, no one likes booing (unless you're a heel wrestler I suppose... 😁) but still.. some confidence in yourself doesn't hurt either. Sometimes you just don't know until you've tried.
Re: Native Instruments Apple Silicon M1 Compatibility
My advice to anyone with an M1 chip thinking about spending money with Native Instruments would be to hold off until such time as they can at least share a roadmap of when they're planning to get all of the products you're definitely going to use fully compatible. Then understand that roadmaps are a great step in the right direction but not a guarantee, and make your decision at that point. The Rosetta 2 experience with NI programs is nowhere near what it should be given the power of those new chips.
Native Instruments is now part of Soundwide + freebies 🎁

Maschine 2.15 is out!
Hey everyone,
It's been a long time coming since we shared the plan with our update in February. It's finally here!
Maschine 2.15 is available now.
You can read the full change-log on our status update
As always, we'd love to hear your feedback about this update. Feel free to share your comments below but PLEASE keep in mind that if you have a specific issue or want to share what should be next on Maschine, a new thread is more fitting.
A quick word from the Maschine team about M+:
We’d like to reassure everyone that our Maschine Plus update is still planned and it will be released in Q2. For context, the M+ update was postponed due to quality reasons and the team decided to take a bit more time to focus on improving audio stability. This was a tough decision to make, especially since we already shared our excitement with you all, and ultimately it came down to shipping you all the best possible release and improving Maschine Plus as much as we can.
Happy updating 🚀
---
Note about compatibility between 2.15 and Maschine Plus:
Errors can be seen on Maschine Plus, "sample could not be found" when loading projects made on Maschine 2.15. This is due to the version of M+ not containing some necessary fixes required to load the patches made with the new save sound with samples feature. This will be solved with the next update of M+.
Maschine 2.15.1 is now available. Please make sure to update to the last version to prevent any issues.

Re: Maschine 2 and Maschine + Update Status
this is the most condescendingly passive aggressive comment i've seen on a forum in some time lol
