Can NI's Kontakt libraries be stored on a Micro SD card, as I'm buying a new PC with a 512GB hard drive, or should I get an external SSD drive instead ? Thanks
They can (I have them stored on the micro sd card in my Surface).
Depending on the card specifics, accessing them will be faster/slower, but in any case it works
Also depending on how much more space needed (thinking ahead), you can get an extra 2tb hd or ssd to replace the optical drive which will keep opening drive free from being overloaded with non kontakt files if purpose for new pc is strictly for running kontakt. Idea is to always have a backup for your backup drive
I, as well as LostInFoundation, have Kontakt Libraries on SD Card.
It is probably slower than external SSD, I guess. But no wires and so, needed. Better when on move....
Hey there thanks for the advice. I have now got a new laptop, all the libraries I want are on a 1TB micro SD card everything is working fine.
