Kontakt 8 crash / does not start

Just bought NI Kontakt 8, but I have problems after installing it from Native Access.

The standalone version first started, but the second time I wanted to launch it, it does nothing. When I click the KT8 icon, nothing happens.

When trying to load the VST3 version in any DAW, I get instant DAW crash (both Cubase 14 and Bitwig).

I tried these troubleshoot steps, but none of these solved the problem:

  • Completely restarted Windows
  • Deleted komplete.db3 file in c:\Users\myusername\AppData\Local\Native Instruments\Kontakt 8\
  • Uninstalled and fully reinstalled Kontakt 8 via Native Access.

My Setup:
i7 12700K desktop | Intel UHD 770 IGP | 64 GB RAM | 2 x 2 TB NVMe SSD
Audio / MIDI: Steinberg UR824 ASIO 48kHz 256 sample latency | Icon iKeyboard 61
Software: Windows 11 24H2 64-bit | Cubase 14 Pro | Bitwig Studio 5.3

    The uninstaller sucks… has left so many leftovers after uninstallation.
    When uninstalling properly and removing all remnants, the new installation is working fine.

    You should improve this NI.
