Right syntax for relative path on two different PCs
Hello everybody,
I have an instance of K7 on a Win 10 PC I use for tracking (let's call it Tpc)
and another instance on another Win 10 PC for mixing etc. (Mpc)
On Tpc the path is this:
X:\Ableton\Instruments\Kontakt 7\Libraries\
while on the Mpc it's this other one:
N:\Audio\Ableton\Instruments\Kontakt 7\Libraries\
How should I set the "Non-Player content base path" of the two instances to avoid to be asked for missing samples when I open a project on Mpc that was modified and saved on Tpc?
Now, sometimes it can't find the Indiginus fiddle and Marcos Ciscar reed organ samples and it's enough to point it to the right folder to let it find them.
I read about the relative path settings but I'm not sure I understood it…
Thank you.

Hello,
unfortunately native instruments stuff does not work with relative paths, you have to use absolutely the same path on both computers even the drive letter has to be the same.

What does that mean then?

I can only tell you from experience, that if the paths are not equal and you try to open a project on the other computer Kontakt will ask you for the sample path. I can try and report back maybe I missed something all the years. But I'm not the biggest kontakt expert, maybe @EvilDragon can shed some light onto this, he knows for sure
But it sounds like it does what you want for non player libraries.
