Does iZotope's Repair Assistant work with artificial intelligence, or does it work with AI support?

I will talk about Repair Assistant in my upcoming presentation, but should I describe it as a fully AI-driven system or as AI-assisted, meaning semi-artificial intelligence? How exactly does it work?

This is most likely a very protected bit of intellectual property that no one - except possibly iZotope themselves - would/could ever talk about.

I am guessing they probably won't be too keen on giving away their secrets.

I don't know how to define all of that.

Quote 1 : "Repair Assistant Plug-in – re-built from the ground up, the Repair Assistant uses machine learning to automatically recognize specific problems and intelligently propose fixes that you can modify to taste (included in RX Elements, Standard, and Advanced)"

Quote 2 : RX Repair Assistant - leverages iZotope’s advancements in machine learning to help you get quick results when cleaning up audio tracks. It listens to your audio and suggests a great starting point for fixing common noise issues.

@Matthew_NI , I believe that you are the 'know iZotope' wordsmith here.

RX makes use of neural networks trained (primarily supervised learning, but a mix of other approaches in some areas like reinforcement learning, etc) to identify certain sounds, and thus extract them and only them from an audio signal.

So when Repair Assistant is running, depending on the type of process (only certain modules use machine learning), it may be referencing the neural networks to identify and/or manipulate those sounds.
