Plugin Controls Don't Update on Screen

I'm having this issue with Repro 1/5 where I load the plugins in KK and see 2 pages of pre mapped controls on the keyboard screen and a completely different set of controls in the KK plugin. I can edit and save the controls as their own NKS file but it never updates on the keyboard screen. I have reinstalled both the repro plugins and the kk plugin but nothing works. Only seems to be happening with Repro (I have Hive as well and no issues there so it's not just a u-he thing)

Any ideas how to fix this?

This is normal behaviour for NKS2 - you get a performance view with the main controls needed for playing, and a classic view which enables a deeper dive into params - the classic view is what corresponds to NKS1 edited controls. To switch simply hold SHIFT and press button 5

    THANK YOU

I had no idea this feature existed and it was driving me crazy lol. I assume this only works with plugins that support nks2? I don't have this option with any of my other synths.

It looks like it always defaults to classic view off. Is there a way to make classic view the default?

    Not that I know of

Yes any plugin that supports NKS2 has this feature - eg many Arturia plugins, Diva, some Kontakt libraries (eg Porphrya). Seems to be a way of reducing down the complexity of some plugins - Arturia Pigments being a great example - that one also has param grouping, as does Diva - but not Repro I guess because it's much simpler to start with

Ok I just did some more research on nks2 and some of these features look amazing. I use mostly 3rd party instruments so I never saw some of this before. Just played around with Hypha and saw the parameter pages that you can jump to. Every time I fire this keyboard up I wonder why I can't do that already but apparently you can!

I'm guessing the plugin developers would have to set this and it's not something users can edit at the moment

Yeah at the moment this seems only a developer feature.

Ironically something very like param grouping and navigation using the 8 buttons was something that was possible years ago in NI Kore 2. That was a feature users could create so it would be great if it was opened up to us at some point.

Interesting. So would this be the same reason that some synths just don't work at all? For example, some of the Korg synths reset all values to zero regardless of where they are on the plugin. Is the nks functionality just not supported by the developer?

Korg plugins all work, there are pre-made libraries with all the controls mapped for all presets available here:

    Thanks for sharing that link.

I've actually already mapped my Korg synths as I don't really use presets and prefer to create my own sounds. The issue with some of the Korg controls is that they map correctly, but they zero out on loading the plugin or if you switch presets and then they don't match what is on the plugin. Seems to be an issue with vst3, the vsts work fine in this regard. Images won't display on the vst3 either but they will on the vst.

So yes, they do work but there are some issues that I don't have with other plugins. I was more curious if this was also on the developers end.

I don't see an option to edit my post…

EDIT: Images won't display on the vts but they will on the vts3

Images do display for the VST and VST3 it’s just a case of getting the folder names right. Problem with Korg is if you are alternating between VST and VST3 versions the mappings don’t migrate - better to just stick with one version. On Windows VST works better still but on Mac you’re stuck with VST3
