Factory instrument chords, why and how to edit

Endless hours today trying to play a Melodeon track with Kontakt 8 Factory content Melodeon which has a Bass section, a Chords section and Melody section on the keyboard.

The chords are all Major chords except for D which is Minor. I don't understand why this is and how to change it. I've been trying to solve this for half a day now.

Per C major scale, functional harmony major and minor qualities are:

C (I) = Major

D (ii) = Minor

E (iii) = Minor

F (IV) = Major

G (V) = Major

A (vi) = Minor

But in the Melodeon they aren't. I cannot for the life of me find any way to change this nor any explanation as to why the instrument is programmed this way.

Can anyone share any insight?

Hello,

as far as I know those instruments have no chords one key ready. They have a lower section and an upper section with separated air supply to avoid problems when playing lower notes, higher notes got quieter. So the chords are maybe just an additional feature and the chords are recorded that way, you can't change them, but you can play your own chords and if you want one key chords you can use the chord tool from kontakt 8, just totally mute the chord section of the instrument.

Thanks for the answer. Yes, I think using the Chord tool might be the best solution. It was just a curious that they would make just one of the chords minor, like the programming was started but never finished. Or maybe they have modeled an actual Melodeon that happens to have that for some reason, like a specific music style.
