Hope someone could help me with the above setup, I have ensured output as SSL12, Control Surface selecting S61 Mk 3. I could not get any sound of the the keyboard which lights up when I pressed the notes but nothing else happens, and it cannot even control a track within Logic Pro.

I must be missing something, hope to have some expert advice please!

To rule out whether its your output/interface of the S61 — are you SEEING signal in Logic Pro? If you are seeing the signal, but not hearing it, that is likely a problem with your output settings or interface.

If you aren't seeing the S61 create sound when linked to a MIDI/VST Instrument in Logic, then are you sure you are using the S61 as your MIDI input on that VST channel?

If you don't see the S61 as an option, make sure you've downloaded all necessary drivers and you can see S61 in Audio MIDI Setup.

If none of that works, make sure you aren't using MIDI 2.0. Atleast for me, that caused a lot of problems for me. I would use MIDI 1.0 for now until 2.0 is more widely adopted.

Thanks so much for your advice! Please see my inputs below:

No signal when S61 is plugged directly to Mac Studio (2024) thunderbolt port at the rear.

Only when i used a MIDI cable connecting my S61 (midi out) to my SSL12 (midi in), I got sounds when trying out Arturia V Collection.

If you don't see the S61 as an option, make sure you've downloaded all necessary drivers and you can see S61 in Audio MIDI Setup.

All drivers for SSL12, S61 were updated and current.

I will try to launch Logic Pro X to see if it works, suspect with the midi cable connected, it may work.

All audio settings in Logic Pro X has been set to SSL12 as audio out.

Rightfully, I do not need MIDI cable as both SSL12 and S61 are plugged directly into Mac Studio via thunderbolt port behind. They should talk to each other, unless there are some settings that are incorrectly configured which I hope someone with similar setup can help!

    Thanks in advance!

    Regards,

    Michael

Just a tip for the forum, when you copy some text you should use the "quote" box feature or at the very least place some "" around the quoted text to make reading your reply a bit easier.

Copy the text to quote, paster it where you want it in your post then while it is selected click the button on the left and select the quote option:

I would recommend loading up the standalone desktop version of Komplete Kontrol as a start and check in the Preferences menu that your MIDI Input is selected for the keyboard then check in the Audio options your audio interface is selected and then test your keyboard there. This will at least tell you that the keyboard and drivers are all installed and working fine. Form there, in Logic check the same things in the preferences of Logic and if it is not working, post some screenshots of these settings pages in Logic
