Kontakt 8 Reset Search filters

Hi. Since installing my new S61 a few days ago, the search filters in Kontakt is only displaying a few presets. I've looked all around to see how to reset the search filters but no where to be found. Even on the S61, Browser mode, pressing shift will not allow me to reset filters as this menu is greyed out.

Looks like I've created a presets filter ( by accident I presume) but now, I can't remove it, hence, no matter what I select, I only see those 3 sound presets, no matter which Product I search into.

Also, I've completely uninstall all of my Kontakt instruments ( K5 to K8) and re-installed but still the same. the search list has not changed.

Another interesting behaviour since installing the Kontrol S61, I have the same problem with Massive X no showing any patches. Tried to reinstall Massive X and Massive library with no better results.

Any idea how to reset this?

Is this also happening in Kontakt 8 in standalone?

Please try resetting the database: Reinitialize the Kontakt Database

    1. Hold down the alt key on your computer's keyboard and click Go in the Finder menu bar. Choose the appearing Library entry in the drop-down menu.
      GoMenuFinderUserLibrary.png
    2. Navigate to Application Support > Native Instruments.
    3. Depending on the Kontakt version you are using, delete the following folder:
      Kontakt 5: "Kontakt 5"
      Kontakt 6: "Kontakt"
      Kontakt 7: "Kontakt 7"
      Kontakt 8: "Kontakt 8"
    4. Start Kontakt as a standalone application (not in your DAW).

For the Massive X presets, they should show in Komplete Kontrol, not in Kontakt. Kontakt will only show Kontakt libraries. Or do you mean they are missing in the Komplete Kontrol app?

hi Jeremy and thanks for the prompt response. I Used it also does it in standalone version and it does the same. I've deleted all Kontakt folders again this morning just to be certain and I get the same result when opening as a stand alone. I've even deleted ( renamed) the Preset banks from my hard drive that shows in the search field ( Symphonic Organs / SA) and still, the same problem but now with a different list of sounds in the search field. I also noticed on the first opening that some sounds are starting to show up but quickly disappear just giving me that very reduced list.

Same behaviour when trying with Kontakt 7

    Same behaviour in Komplete Kontrol.

As for Massive X, I have the same issue when using Kontrol as a stand alone.

    Hope you can help!

How the products show in Native Access? Have you moved or added folders after installation?

For Massive X, please try the following: My Massive X Browser is Missing Presets

@PoorFellow never used nor downloaded clean my Mac …and never will ;-)

@Jeremy_NI I haven't moved any folders or added after installation of the new Kontrol S61. Note that all my sound presets are on a removable SSD drive with available space. ( 1.34 TO available). This has been my standard setup for over 2 years now. Applications ( Kontakt, Komplete, Massive, Logic etc) are all on the Mac HD/Applications/Native Instruments.

As for Massive X, I've already done that procedure 2x. deleting the folder completely, emptying the trash and restarting every time but no changes.

The more I look into this issue, the more if feels like Kontakt is keeping a search filter by default somewhere else on the drive. When deleting Kontakt folders and restarting, I get this message on the S61 display for a few seconds until Kontakt restarts. and in kontakt, right from the start it tells me "No results found" even if no library or anything has been accessed or selected.

Have you tried without the keyboard connected? On your screenshot I see that you selected User Saved and Favorites, if you unselect those by pressing the buttons above so they don't light up

yes tried with keyboard completely disconnected. That picture was taken during 1st boot ing up of Kontakt after deleting folders as instructed.

I also tried with my old keyboard controller, completely bypassing NI KS61. Same thing. Tried on a different DAW and same problem.

another info: I have exactly the same problem in Kontakt 7 even after deleting and restarting the software.

@Jeremy_NI Me again. Question; I've followed again your original instructions about deleting the Kontakt folders in Application Support / Native instruments and reloaded Kontatk 8 only in Native Access. when doing so, all my original Kontatk settings(in Options or View scale, etc) settings are still there. It's like even if I delete the Kontakt folders, my personal settings remain intact. Is there a way to completely delete it nd all its traces on the SSD and reinstall Kontakt from scratch? Probably have to do the same with Komplete Kontrol, Massive and so on prior of reinstalling.

Just a thought trying to find a solution… because as we speak, although the new S61 is very nice, I don't have much advantages compared to my previous Controller.

@Stummegeist Please reply to the email then with the files. I'll need to forward that to my colleagues, we can't do this on the forum. I deleted the files you posted, this is a public space, it's better not sharing private data.
