kontakt 7 midi transpose

In settings there is a midi transpose function that doesn't work properly. Some notes transpose by the entered interval, other notes by different amounts. Also, in the electric mint manual it states that there is a transpose by octave function - this is what I want to use so that a split keyboard can play two kontakt instruments. But there isn't actually an octave function in the Kontakt settings transpose window. Am I missing something?
