Smart way to update Kontakt?

Is there a clever way to update Kontakt? I seem to remember when I went to contact 7 and unstalled Kontakt 6 first that my Studio One songs complained and I had to fix it myself. So this time, I installed Kontakt 8, then in every Studio One song I saved my Kontakt 7 preset with a new name. Than opened it in Kontakt 8. This works but it's a bit silly because most of my presets are just standard presets with a couple of tweaks here and there and in any other VSI(i) I would just save it as a Studio One preset, but I can't do this because Kontakt 7 is a different VSTi from Kontakt 8.

I'm sure it's me. Please tell me there is a better way.

IMPORTANT: Auto-migration only works with the latest versions of Cubase 12 (and higher), Nuendo 12 (and higher), Logic Pro 10.8 (and higher), Pro Tools 12.3 (and higher) and Maschine 2.16.0 (and higher). Do not try to perform the auto-migration on other DAWs! And do not perform auto-migration if you are still working on your project!

That shouldn't be a problem. The organization and structure of the VSTs changed between 6 and 7 to enable new functionality and industry consistency, so going forward everything should work fine. I didn't do anything when I went to Kontakt 8 and everything is still in place and working great in both 7 and 8.
