My Komplete Kontrol S61 Mk2 screen is stuck on the start up message.

This is happening when using it with Cubase 12 on a PC. Keyboard screen works normally when used with Logic on Macbook Pro. Controls are working with Cubase. Just no screen to browse VST's or to see mixer.
Tried everything. Check USB cables . Different USB ports. Different studio setups on DAW.
Updated and reinstalled drivers etc.
Help! Anyone?
Cheers, David

Did you try Reinstalling KK ?
Else this might be another one for N.I. Komplete Kontrol Support !?

Did you check your MIDI inputs on the MIDI Preferences to ensure you have all the correct entrees listed and selected such as KONTROL, MIDIIN2 and MIDIIN3?

What version of Komplete Kontrol are you using?
And what's your OS?
Remember, Version 3 is for the MK3 keyboards. Since you're on MK2, I believe you should be using Version 2.9.6...

I have all the midi preferences set up correctly and KK keyboard works fine on the Mac. It's with Windows 11 on the PC where its frozen.
Thanks.

Hi. I followed all those steps with the studio setup and it was all correct. The problem exists with the stand alone as well. I check out the other steps in the morning. And get back to you.
Just a bit of background. I have a brand new PC so this is the first set up of all the software. Everything works fine when i plug in a mini keyboard I have. I use the MK 2 with my Macbook Pro running Logic without any problems.
So the keyboard and USB are obviously OK. Just won't integrate with Cubase on the PC.
Thanks for you help so far.

@retro Are you using an antivirus?firewall? Have you tried deactivating them (for the troubleshoot)? Do you use a registry cleaner, like cccleaner? Notes on Using Registry or Property List Cleaning Utilities
Is your Windows system up to date?

Hi,
Windows system up to date. No firewall or cleaner.
In Device Manager there is an orange triangle with an exclamation mark next to the Komplete control entry which is shown under Audio Processing Objects. Right clicking to update driver says the correct driver is already installed and up to date. Should I uninstall it?
Thanks

@retro Have you checked step 4 of the article?
The Komplete Kontrol keyboard driver was not installed or is not installed properly (S-Series users only)
For S-Series users, download the appropriate Komplete Kontrol driver available on the Drivers & Other Files page, in the Komplete Kontrol S-Series category.
If the driver is already installed and the issue persists, go through the steps below to verify the hardware status of your Komplete Kontrol keyboard:
- Make sure your NI device is connected directly to your computer's USB port.
- Open the Start menu and type 'devmgmt.msc' in the search bar, then hit the Enter key on your keyboard to open the Windows Device Manager.
- Expand the entries Sound, video, and game controllers and Universal Serial Bus devices.
- If an exclamation mark appears next to your device entry (as shown in the picture above), install the driver manually as explained below.
- Right-click on the device entry and select Update Driver Software... from the menu that appears.
- In the window that opens, choose "Browse my computer for driver software".
- Browse to the following directory:
- C: > Program Files > Native Instruments > *Device Name Driver* > Inf
- Click OK to load the driver.

Checked everything possible now and all show correct. NI technical crew now investigating having sent them a Support Tool report. Keyboard controls integrate and respond in Daw, just stuck with the startup screen.
Thanks for your help.

I suddenly have same problem, it worked normally until 20 minutes ago, now it's stuck on "Komplete Kontrol (left screen) Smart keyboard Controller (Right screen)"
Uninstalled everything, reinstalled... No help - I'm on Windows 10
Funny thing is it controls my DAW (studio One and Cubase) but screen is just frozen...
I had quite few situations where S61 DAW would stop working and KK reinstal would fix it, now nothing helps.
This controller is nice, but I'm starting to hate it more and more over time... Not happy!

Hi. I am now in the middle of a long correspondence with NI. The case has now been elevated to another dept, as I've tried everything. I have a new PC and all my other keyboards work on it.
Like you I find all the controls work just the screens are stuck like yours. I have a Macbook with Logic Pro and the KK keyboard works normally with it. So we know its not a universal problem. Just some weird glitch with PC communication.
I will inform the NI agent I have been dealing with, that you are having a problem too. I would start a ticket as well if I were you. If I get a solution I will post it on here.

Meant to add that the problem is also there when I use KK app as a standalone. Do you?
