trying to control volumes swells using midi cc 11 ( my expression pedal ) in massive x inside studio one. Studio one uses control link but massive doesn't have a voluyme control that studio one recognizes.
To control parameters by MIDI you first need to assign the parameters you want to control to the 16 available macros, as explained in this article: Massive X - How to record automation in a DAW
Thanks Jeremy, I am aware of that and was able to automate quite a few parameters. However programming a simple volume swell and fade on a basic pad seems out of reach inside massive x…. In the original massive it was simple to assign a controller to the master vol….. not so in massive x. I have no idea what these developers are thinking when they design a new synth….
@Jeremy_NI
Unfortunately, an expression pedal connected to the Komplete Kontrol S keyboard does not work with Massive X in a DAW or when using the Komplete Kontrol software (even on its own). It should work there automatically and be assigned to CC11 according to my understanding.
@DS99 There are no predeffined assignments to CC11 (expression) in Massive X. All the possible MIDI assignments available are at the top of the plug-in's window:
You have Pitch Bend, Modulation Wheel, Aftertouch and the 16 assignable macros, If you want to use an expression pedal to control a parameter you would need to assign the parameter to a Macro and assign expression/CC11 to it in your DAW.
