My Brand New Kontrol S88 Mk3 has stopped working

The key bed and basic midi function still works, but the actual bit I bough it for, the integration with Kontakt has totally stopped working. I cant even press the buttons. Ive attached a video of an example of the glitching. it was working fine this morning and now is bricked.

Ive tried resetting it to factory settings and launching it in recovery mode. no luck. it is fully updated

I can almost guarantee that's this issue. Take a look at this FAQ. There's a known issue with certain USB implementations and the Kontrol MK3 series keyboards. You can also do a search on this forum for "Kontrol MK3 USB-C" and read through the hundreds of posts.

I've been using a Rosonway USB-C/A hub and the factory cable (no additional USB cable for power) with my M2 Studio Ultra and it's working great. I originally had issues using the factory cable. Like you mentioned, sometimes it would work fine for a while and then stop, sometimes it wouldn't work at all. I had started using the cable that cable with my Ableton Push 3 and that worked great, but it's really short, so I bought a hub so I could use the longer NI factory cable.

Ok awesome, do we have any idea why the cables that they have been shipping with are faulty? is it to do with apple compatibility?

and just to be clear it should go away if I get another cable?

It's not the USB cable. I'm using the factory supplied cable now with a hub and it works flawlessly. It's something to do with the way USB is implemented by certain computer manufacturers.

NI's official recommended work around is to use a powered USB hub. There are several that will work, but I shared the link with the one that I found to work well with my M2 Studio

I ordered one and it should arrive tomorrow so hopefully it will be resolved by then! ill keep the thread open just incase.

Ok so it seemed to fix it for about an hour, the problem then returned. Nothing seems to have changed, the lights still flash and the buttons dont work. Having preorders in October, this is SO frustrating to have such an expensive piece of equipment not work on arrival.
