Ok so I have Reaper, which is recording guitars just fine. I also have guitar rig 6 which works just fine by itself

But when I mount guitar rig 6 as VSTI 3 no sound is coming from my headphones, no sound is being picked up by reaper, basically nothing happens. Midi track controls open, doesn't seem to get any signal. This is the first time I've tried recording with this

If I insert new track it records guitar properly.

yes its armed, is somewhere on reaper not reading input?

prease help me

I want something like RAUM - any idea what kind of reverb pedal I could get?. I thinks its a good quality hall like this JHS Series 3 Reverb. I only need the hall don't care about heaps of effects

What is your operating system? Are you running Reaper and Guitar Rig 6 as administrator? How to Run a Program as an Administrator

What soundcard / driver are you using for Reaper ? For Guitar Rig in standalone?

Win 10, Minifuse 2 for the soundcard and input. using Guitar Rig standalone is great, works fine. its just that Reaper isn't reading it after selecting it as VST3. Sorry I'm in NZ, for the late reply, below is what I do to get setup

    1) plug in mini fuse 2 and guitar plus heaphones

    2) open minifuse2 control - sound working. This the interface between my Guitar and PC

    3) open reaper - sound working - can record now (opened as admin)

    4) Select insert virtual instrument in new track

    5) select VST3 - guitar rig 6. midi controls open and already armed in reaper

Am I missing something? because I'm not sure what to do next as while I can hear the guitar running the Guitar Rig 6 is not reading any input.

If I open Guitar Rig standalone my audio Preferences are as follows. you cant access them in Reaper.

    Driver ASIO

    Device Minifuse ASIO driver

    Status Running

    Inputs

    Guitar Rig 6 in L 1: MIC/LINE/INST 1

    Guitar Rig 6 in R: MIC/LINE/INST 2

    Outputs

    Guitar Rig 6 Out L 1:OUTPUT LEFT

    Guitar Rig 6 Out L 1:OUTPUT RIGHT

Not sure what to do next

Hey @JoeyF I'm a little confused here. Guitar RIg 6 is an audio effect. You should create an audio track and add Guitar Rig 6 as an FX on that track.

OMG thats amazing. I though it worked like an effect pedal, not post production. Thanks. for the record does that exist? software guitar pedals that you can use before and during recording? I really like RAUM - any idea of something like that?

I don't know for Reaper but there should be a way to hear the effect on your source even when playing, not just on recorded audio. Look for input monitoring or something similar and how this is possible in Reaper. You could use RAUM in the same way, no need to buy a pedal, unless you want to play live or because you just love pedals!
