How to assign mod wheel control from Komplete Kontrol to any MIDI controller knob in Ableton?

Hello,

I am trying to assign a mod wheel from Komplete Kontrol to a midi controller (Xone K2)

It seems that in MIDI control window, I am unable to change the CC for mod wheel parameter, it is grayed out, showing me a "-" above the value

I am stuck, any guidance?

    Pitch and Mod wheels are fixed CC, they can't be changed. Why I have no idea but if you are using an MK2 keyboard it is best to use the Touchstrip as the custom way for this kind of thing

    oh wow... so, if I have two instances of Komplete Kontrol, I need two separate keyboards to control the mod wheel? This sounds to me like a limitation for a live set. It is strange...and limiting at the same time.
