Guitar Rig 6 issue - getting it into Logic Pro X
The trouble started when I switched over to the Apollo Twin X interface (from Apogee Duet).
Now I can only use GR6 as a standalone and it won't let me get it working into Logic.
I see it showing up (see photos), but no sounds.
Only when I open it outside of Logic as a standalone does everything work well.
I never had problems before...at a complete loss on how to proceed.
My midi sounds and keyboard sounds are recording perfectly otherwise.
thank you

@TarCrystalline I understand, but it should work, answering these questions could help troubleshooting. If you need further help on this, it would probably be better to get in touch with our specialists here, as they may need some more info on your system: https://bit.ly/NISupport_GR

This was the culprit!
I went to a Logic Pro X forum.

Hey @TarCrystalline Did you give Full Disk access to Logic ? How to Enable Full Disk Access on macOS
Also make sure to give access to the microphone for Logic: macOS Dialog: “*App Name* would like to access the microphone."

THANKS!!
Hey @TarCrystalline Did you give Full Disk access to Logic ? How to Enable Full Disk Access on macOS Just did (see photo)
Also make sure to give access to the microphone for Logic: macOS Dialog: “*App Name* would like to access the microphone." Already enabled
*Still not getting it - it records but without any of the guitar rig sounds. just a dry guitar sound.
And yet, back to testing in the standalone mode- it works fine. I just can't record because it's not in Logic.
So odd.
My iM
ac is new and updated.

Ok, let's try this out:
Delete these files:
Macintosh HD > Library > Audio > Plug-Ins > Components > Guitar Rig 6.component
Macintosh HD > Users > *Your User Name* > Library > Preferences > com.native-instruments.Guitar Rig 6.plist
Note: the User Library folder is hidden. To access it, click on Go in the menu bar and press down the Alt key. You'll now find the Library entry in the menu:
Then re-install Guitar Rig 6 in Native Access. Open Guitar Rig 6 in standalone, select a soundcard, then open Logic. Does that fix the issue ?

I did all these steps Jeremy, cannot wait to go home soon and see if it works, I just can’t imagine it wouldn’t.
It’s the only thing I didn’t try yet.
thank you so much for your patience!!
I love NI products!

Hi Jeremy,
Not working after all these changes.
One thing I notice is that in the standalone version (which does work!) when I click on the "three vertical dots" near Guitar Rig 6 I have an "Audio" tab.
When I pull it up in Logic I don't.
see my screengrab.
Such a weird issue...

Hey @TarCrystalline Does this happen in a new and empty project ? With any Guitar Rig preset ? If you are using some kind of channel strip template, try loading Guitar rIg 6 fx on a blank track. Have you tried with different inputs of the soundcard ? Have you tried to put the Guitar Rig fx on a track where audio is already recorded, does sound come through ?
About the audio tab, since you are using Guitar rIg in a DAW, the audio interface is managed by the DAW so there is no settings in the Guitar Rig plug-in. Have you tried different audio settings in Logic ? Like a different sample frequency. Can you reproduce the issue if you are using the onboard soundcard of your computer ?

Just out of curiosity I downloaded Amplitude and the exact same issue was happening.
Standalone: worked
Pulling up in Logic: didn't
see my attached settings-
I tried your suggestions.
aaaaaaaahhhhhh!

No, this doesn't need to be lit up, but, again try to load the plug-in on an empty channel strip in an empty project, there is at least 5 other effects here before Guitar rig. Also try with no effect at all, does sound come through or not? Please also check the other points in my previous post. It looks like it's more of a Logic audio routing than a Guitar Rig issue.

I tried this....there is a flat guitar sound- not the sound of Guitar Rig.
Thanks for clarifying that input doesn't need to be lit up- I thought it did.

I’ve tried all these suggestions.
I’m going to use the Universal Audio guitar plugins instead and modify them with the Apple guitar preset sounds. That’s the only thing seems to work simply.
thanks for all your time!
