Quality of hardware - s88 mk2

Broken keys.
NI service has it for the second time.
I'm a light player, have other controllers, never ever had a key broken before.

Since this is the second time around I've asked them to look at it more thoroughly than the last time… to no avail, not even a reply from support.

What are your experiences with NI Support?

Have you had a lot of controllers fail on you?
I've been doing this since late 80-ties and never had a broken key from studio use.
This is the second time with the same unit.
Curious if I've got a bad unit from the start?

The backup controller I got the last time this happened has seen almost the same amount of hours and working flawlessly.

In what way is the key broken?

If the issue is the key starts making a loud clunk or a plastic-on-plastic sound, yes that has been a common issue raised quite a few times over the years and seems to be poor quality dampening material in the keybed that either moves or deteriorates.

However is it is a key actually physically breaking or failing, not something I have heard of on the forums as much (as someone who visits daily for 10 years). I have heard of the odd report of a key having a different velocity than other keys, a few cases where a key has no signal at all however in most of those cases the user never reports back after some advice, likely the issue is more something else grabbing the MIDI key signal in the DAW than a failed key. Nothing I would say screams an overall issue. Would help to know more details on how your key is broken.
