Vocalsynth 2 How to make the synth voice cleaner

HI.

This is more of a forum type of question.

I just got Vocalsynth 2. I used Vocalsynth 1 earlier. I'd like to know if anybody has any suggestions how to clean up the synth voice. It's kind of distorted and I can't clearly understand the lyrics I sang into it. Does anybody have any suggestions on a particular mode to use or setting? What's the point of singing lyrics if you can't understand them? I'm using the non MIDI mode. I'm singing into it. I just want to make my voice sound robotic but clear.

I would try De-Essing vocals before sending them to Vocalsynth and also using Noise Gate to remove breaths and other unwanted noise.
Removing breaths and sibilance can clean up the end result in my opinion.

I have no direct experience with VocalSynth, but love vocoders and talkboxes (I have a Roland SVC-350).

The choice of sound for your carrier can make a big difference. Experiment with low vs high pitched, or even a mix of both. Clean sounds vs gritty/dirty. Layer some noise on top.

Over emphasise your consonants to avoid the vocal sounding like a string of vowel sounds.
