About a year ago, I was one of the first to test a Native Kontrol S61 MK3. At the time, I couldn't get my M-gear sustain pedal to work. Is this fixed in the meantime, or can someone confirm it works?
Hello,
two pedals here, one simple sustain pedal and one expression pedal, both work perfect. What settings do you have tried so far, normally you use "switch mode" then the cc you need (i guess cc 64) set on the tip contact. Does your pedal has a 1/4 inch mono jack, i would guess so.
Is it this one that you have?
have you tried this?

This pedal should work, I don't think this model ever had a problem with the mk3 keyboard. Please remember that now you need to setup pedals from the MIDI template edit on the keyboard, it's all explained in the article that @Uwe303 posted.
Hello, I just got message back from NI, and they confirmed it should be resolved and it should work now. Thanks for the tips.
BUT… Unfortunately that claim was not completely true. I found this : https://www.reddit.com/r/NativeInstruments/comments/18nq332/psa_sustain_pedal_maudio_sp2_on_kontrol_s61_mk3/ And since the UI has changed, I'm not sure how this can be achieved after the firmware update.
SOLUTION FOUND : OK, so for anybody having an S series controller and an M-Audio SP2 sustain pedal, this seems to be the solution. (At least I got it working) Apparently the problem has something to do with the difference in the jacks. (don't ask me why) The SP-2 has a TS-jack but the S61 has a TRS input.
Some re-mapping needs to be done. I fiddled around and found it through the following settings. 1. Clink SHIFT + Browser to open the template settings 2. Clink on the 2nd button on top, labeled "Edit". 3. Use that same button to scroll through the templates pages until you reach "Pedals" 4. If necessary, use the rotary knob to highlight the "Sustain" (it's hardly noticeable) but it should be the first one selected by default 5. Put the following settings on page 1:
6. Use the arrow pointing right to go to the second page of the sustain 7. Set this screen to the following
8. Use the right arrow again to go further to page 3 9. Put in these settings:
10. Click "Done" Enjoy! Hope this helps for somebody. To NATIVE INSTRUMENTS: You should inform and provide instructions since the UI has changed after the firmware upgrade. This took way too long for such a trivial thing to get to work.
Ths setting should not work cause ring and sleeve are shorted if you plug in a TS plug into an trs socket only of the plug I Not all the way in it could work or something else is wrong, but on my MK3 it works only with tip set to CC64 - very, very strange - but anyway, if that's working for you .....
