Hello,
I'm setting up Kontakt 8 on a new Macbook (this will be my second, remote computer as a supplement to an iMac). I've been working all week to create parity between the two machines (both silicone Macs). I'm running into a few issues with Kontakt and would love some advice from this excellent community.
- When I open an instance of Kontakt, it's basically too big. I can't actually see all of the interface because it's stretching below the bottom of my screen. I have to click view>zoom>75% and then I can see it. I'd love to avoid doing this every single time as that is quite tedious in the flow of composing. I've tried setting it the way I want it and saving it as a channel strip but that does not preserve the instrument the way I left it.
- Channel Strips are a big part of how I work. I make lots of tweaks to the parameters within the interface of an instrument in Kontakt and then save it that way so I can always recall it. I copied and pasted all of my channel strips from the first computer to the second. When I load Logic, they are all there. Great so far. However, if I actually open a Channel Strip that involves a Kontakt instrument, Kontakt will initiate and it will ask for the path to the samples (I'm working from an SSD drive). I'll point it to the correct path and then the interface will open but the instrument will not be there, just the new default view with thumbnails of all the libraries I own. I can then select the instrument I expected to see and it will again prompt me for the sample path, which is odd. I'll give it to it and then this time it will open the instrument but none of the settings I had changed when creating my Channel Strip are where they should be. I should also point out that if I open a session on the new computer that involves any instrument previously created with a Channel Strip, it'll open fine, with all of the settings I changed preserved. Very odd.
