Any help? Lost instruments in Kontakt 8

Hi!

Recently I needed to increase my storage space and decided to do a clean reinstall of my entire Native products rather than do the moving mambo; took longer but it kept things nice and clean.

I have all programs and instruments running of a fast SD card and largely, works well.

Missing from Kontact 8 however, is Electric Keys - Diamond and Pheonix as well as Empire Breaks.

They were present before this move but no longer show in the application in Logic.

There are no errors or repairs needed in Native Access and the file paths are the same as everything else. The instruments show in Kontact 7 no problem but the keys aren't useable there.

I have, thus far, tried to reinstall Kontact 8 but the issue remains.

I'd appreciate any ideas.

@outofusernames Please read the instructions more carefully, your last screenshot is from the applications folder found in the system library, not the application support folder found in the user library. I'll copy the part from the article Poorfellow posted:

Reinitializing the Kontakt database:

Hold down the alt key on your computer's keyboard and click Go in the Finder menu bar. Choose the appearing Library entry in the drop-down menu.
Navigate to Application Support > Native Instruments.
Open the folder of your Kontakt version, e.g. "Kontakt 8". (Please note that Kontakt 6 is displayd as "Kontakt".)
Delete the file komplete.db3:
Start Kontakt as a standalone application (not in your DAW). It may take a few moments to reinitialize the database. The browser problems should then be resolved.

I'm on a MacBook Pro 2021 - M1 Pro - Sequoia Ver 15.5 - the latest Logic Pro.

For ease of reference btw :-)

Be sure to be using latest version of Native Access for your OS

else first try reinitialize the KONTAKT 8 Database

If that doesn't help then try resetting the Native Access XML file , look at section 8 here : My Product is Missing in Native Access then reinitialize the KONTAKT 8 Database again..

@outofusernames Can you also check in Kontakt 8 in standalone if the products are showing and functional?

@Jeremy_NI - The instruments aren't showing when I launch K8 as standalone from Native Access. But are in K7 - as they don't /

@PoorFellow - I'll give that a go right now - will update!

No luck so far.

Everything appears up to date; K7 actually had a prompt for an update when I opened NA.

I'll post a screenshot but I don't seem to be able to access a .db3 file as pictured.

I did give full disk access to NI, that was unticked.

Now that I have done that, I shall do the old "turn it off and on again" - as restarting might make a difference to the SD card, with regard the ****** access change.

Haha, I had to chuckle to myself - I felt a little told off!!

I am still getting my head around Macs after years of windows and really, it still has ways of making my head ache - this alt/click to get to THE menu you need not to mention how it's ordered.

I was schooled in my last enquiry as well :-)

You're advice worked, many thanks @Jeremy_NI and @PoorFellow, thanks to you too - you helped me out with my last issue and I think I might be set for this particular situation.

Moving and reinstalls.

@outofusernames Sorry, didn't mean to tell you off, this happens all the time with a lot of people! Now you know about the user library on Mac :)
