I haven't used any of the Cremona Quartet instruments in a while and realized recently that NI updated them and made them unusable in version 6 of the Kontakt Plug-in, which is the version I purchased them with. They now require Kontakt 7, which is apparently no longer available.
I checked out the Komplete Start Getting Started pages and noticed that, after downloading and registering, the Kontakt 7 plug-in is shown being loaded into one's DAW. Cool! So I registered that and now see Kontakt 7 in Native Access 2. Great! However, it doesn't install a plug-in, only the Player, which is useless to me. Same with Kontakt 8. No plug-in. Useless.
Is NI really saying they've purposely updated my previously purchased Quartet products, such that they're no longer usable unless I spend $$$ on a new version of Kontakt??
Also, when I install Ozone EQ that comes with Komplete Start, Native Access 2 completely ignores my Application location settings and places it in C:\Program Files\… When I try to access the EQ plug-in from my DAW, naturally, it's not found, and it doesn't seem to matter which directory I add to the VST Search Path and then re-scan, the EQ plug-in is not found.
Clearly I'm missing something here. What, exactly, is the deal with all this?
TIA,
