Komplete Kontrol only for FXs?

I'm a user of the Komplete Kontrol S-Series and Maschine MK3, and ever since I set up my workflow organically with these, I’ve also integrated third-party companies that support NKS compatibility. I really enjoy working with my hardware to control many of my VSTs.

However, I have a suggestion (if it hasn’t been made before).

I’d like to ask the Native Instruments team if they've ever considered creating a Komplete Kontrol insert for managing NKS-compatible effects?

What I mean is, instead of the current setup—where KK processes (Instrument → FX1 → FX2, etc.)—what if we could "go vertical?" Imagine being able to load any instrument (NKS or not) on your DAW and then insert a special FX version of Komplete Kontrol to switch between effects and tweak parameters using the hardware.

Would love to hear thoughts on this!

It's something that's been mentioned a lot especially when KK first came out, but I've not seen or heard about it being on the roadmap. That doesn't mean it's not, just no-one has told me if it is :)

It's something that makes a lot of sense, especially now NKS has been opened up more. Companies like Waves have had NKS integration for yonks and being able to build up effects chain presets would be really useful.

It's a request that goes back to before KK even came out - Matt did indicate somewhere that it is on the radar but no idea how long it would be. I think it is essential and do not understand why NI seem to think otherwise

well, there are lots of good suggestions that could have been implemented in the last 11+ years but alas, user suggestions are just not a priority…

Yeah to me it’s bonkers not to have a FX version, especially given almost all PA and iZotope plugins are FX (and many of them specifically designed to be used on the master buss, not as inserts). Should have been there from the get go.

yeh when I realised that, I told to myself, for sure someone else must have thought of this.
I'm a "real" user of KK in the last year or so, which is why I came late to the party, I didn't have a S-series keyboard before.

I think it would be amazing! I'd be keen to buy it as a separate not included plug-in!
