I have upgraded my computer to an iMac, running Sequoia 15.2. I have downloaded Kontaks 5, 7 & 8 to accommodate other NI instruments, but Studio Drummer and Abbey Road 50s Drummer keep failing…
broken since I added the latest version of Komplete Start to my account.
As you point out yourself then it's very odd if what broke the installation was you adding the latest version of Komplete Start to your account, but hey , none of us knows the mysteries of N.A. internals and of N.I. servers so while it makes no sense to us then maybe it does to the N.I. initiated (?).
Since I wrote my previous reply in this thread then there has been an improvement.
You can now download manually installers from Account downloads (How to use the NI Download Manager (misleading title) ). So you could try removing any trace of the products , then reboot and then try reinstalling using the manual installers to see if that helps (?)
.
Hi both, Thanks for the replies! I'm pleased to say that @PoorFellow 's suggestion worked! I've so far only tried with AR 70s drummer, but manually removing every trace of it, restarting and then using the manual installer worked. It's really good to see that NI have started making manual installers an option, as clearly in this case, Native Access managing the install was the problem.@Jeremy_NI , the libraries are installed on my system drive. Also, I can't uninstall them using Native Access, as it doesn't think the are installed, because the installs have been failing.
Be sure that you are using latest version of Native Access for your OS
Have you done all the Mac users must do when using N.I. software ? :
ALL NI apps including NTKDaemon must have full disk access. : How to Enable Full Disk Access on macOS
and disks must be of correct format (APFS) : Notes on Network Drives and Disk Formats
Also then please check that iCloud Private Relay has been turned off (applies to download problems only) : Native Access Error Message:"Download failed" (macOS)
Also then do not use Clean My Mac.
And quote Kymeia : if using Sequoia then N.I. apps must be added to the Local Network
PoorFellow, thank you so much. Here's what happened: The Native Access Home splash page indicated that the two drum plug-ins failed to load. When I opened a new project in Logic, however, they appeared, and were working… ?! And - they were working on the latest version of Kontakt (8), which was the first one that I downloaded. This was after NA prompted me to download earlier versions, in order for the installation to succeed. I don't get it - but it's working.
I am not sure exactly what has happened here. But I know that you are supposed to open Kontakt as standalone at least one time for it to scan for libraries before using it in a DAW.
Please let me know, by using the quote below my post, if you continue to have problems with this then I will call for Jeremy_NI to take a look
So what does appear in Native Access now for these libraries?
Hey @PoorFellow and @Jeremy_NI, I'm having the same problem, but this time with AR 70s Drummer, Modern Drummer & Vintage Drummer. Oddly, they have been installed and working fine for ages, but have broken since I added the latest version of Komplete Start to my account. I haven't installed any of the products from Komplete Start yet. Even more oddly, AR 50s, 60s and 80s Drummer are unaffected. I have tried: * Re-installing 70s and Modern. Both download successfully but give me an "Installation Failed" error * Pointing them to their libraries using "Add Product Content" but I get a "Could not add product content" error * Deleting those specific product libraries and re-installing * Re-installing Native Access * Trashing Native Access cache and re-starting * Launching stand alone apps and re-scanning libraries for Komplete Kontrol, and all various versions of Kontact I have made sure that: * All NI apps have full disk access * I am not using Clean My Mac * I am using default install paths in Komplete I am on: Mac OS 14.7.4 Again the problem occurred after I added the latest version of Komplete Start to my account, but without me actually installing any products from it. Any ideas? Many thanks, Olli
Can you try to uninstall these libraries with Native Access and then install them from scratch again?
Are your libraries installed on an external hard drive? There has been an ongoing issue with Native Access needing to relocate some libraries all the time.
I'm wondering if this could be linked. If the uninstall/reinstall and tips from that thread didn't help, it would be better to contact our support here: https://bit.ly/NI_Support_All
