Kontakt 8 Custom Library Import ?
Hello, I am contemplating a strategic change in workflow which would be centered around Kontakt 8. Although I have used Kontakt 6 and 7, I have not used the import feature, and I found no answers to my questions in the manual. I have 2 questions regarding custom library import via the cog:
A. If I specify/import my sample library (360GB), does that mean that Kontakt will then categorize the sounds according to name or some metadata? Will these sounds be available to search in some way and appear in the right side panel?
- If the answer is no, is there a workaround to make this happen?
B. I have a variety of 3rd party nki files that I had entered into Quickload in KT7. I understand that I can just move the quickload folder over, but can I now import these folders, run batch resave, and have them appear alongside the NI and NKS-compatible icons in the instrument view? Will they appear as presets in a search? Will Multis appear?
- If the answer is no, is there a workaround to make this happen?
Thanks in advance for any help on this….

I'm afraid that you won't get an answer here. For one simple reason.
Most probably, no one ever tested such thing.I can't imagine anyone (and for whatever reason) to want to import a library of 360 GB of different instruments and developers at once! For a number of good reasons.
However i can answer to the second part of your question.
Once you import the libraries, yes, the presets will appear in the right side panel.I also have to emphasize that the "Import Content" option is only meant for old and legacy libraries (by NI or by a 3rd party), as well as for custom-made ones. For all new material use "Relocate" in Native Access (after you move them to their new location).

Thanks for the response @Sunborn .
To clarify, the 360GB are just samples (mostly one-shot and loop wav files). There are no instruments there. I was trying to see if Kontakt could be the one-stop shop for all of my samples so that I could find them as one-shots or loops using the search. I am going based on the attached text which appears in the Import Content screen. I tested a small folder, and it did import into one-shots, so I am proceeding with others.
I was able to get a number of my legacy Kontakt libraries imported, so pleased with that. They don't have thumbnails, and they don't preview, but I'll live with that.
If these 2 things succeed, I can realistically adopt an approach to new projects based almost solely on the DAW and Kontakt templates.

"To clarify, the 360GB are just samples (mostly one-shot and loop wav files)."
In this case, yes, you are good to go!
However, i still can't foresee the final outcome because i never did such thing.
