Hi All,

I am unable to to get an input signal into Guitar Rig 7.

The signal from my guitar to the audio interface works fine, but no input detected in Guitar Rig 7. I also tried all the steps from

https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/360015289417-Guitar-Rig-Crashes-at-Startup

I am using a Macbook pro and an M-Audio Mtrack Solo

Please see my settings.

Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

if you set the output switch to direct monitoring you should hear your guitar through headphones or speakers, have you tried that? Could be maybe a mac rights issue, you have to grant permission for applications to use audio inputs. Like described here:

    Hello @Uwe303

I checked the input permission settings, and everything appears to be fine. Could you assist me in enabling direct monitoring? A Google search suggests that it can be turned on from the input page within Preferences, but I don’t see that option (please see the attached picture).

Although enabling direct monitoring might help resolve the issue, I believe my input signal isn’t reaching Guitar Rig, as even the tuner isn’t detecting or receiving my guitar input.

    Thanks in advance.

If you use the interface in Garage Band does the guitar input work there? If it doesn't then there's a problem with the interface side of things so you probably need to talk to M-Audio. If it does then we can try and come up with more ideas here.

Direct monitoring won't help in your case, it's used when you want to hear an unprocessed input with low latency which is usually for singers using a mic and listening to themselves in headphones. With GR you'd generally want to hear the processed sound.

Oops I missed to mention, guitar right works just fine through the DAW ( garage band). Im facing this issue when I use guitar rig just by itself.

Lately I've noticed that guitar rig tends to hang when I use it via garage band, hence was trying to use it without the DAW

The direct monitor switch is on the front of the audio interface, and that you can set to direct monitor mono/stereo and USB. Set it to direct mono would just rule out that the input is defective as I mentioned you should then hear your guitar through headphones and speakers. If that works you can set it back to USB as we need it for guitar rig and we know the input/guitar/guitar cable is all working fine. Also check that you have set input two to instrument and connected So if you have checked those permissions t should work now.
