Edit or keysplit NI keyboard / lights whilst keeping knob presets of loaded instrument.

Using Logic Pro with Komplete Kontrol software and S61 hardware.
I want to play two instruments / tracks on the keyboard at once, and try keep ability to view / edit the preset controls that are automatically set up for the knobs.
Albeit I'd likely have to click on the track to show the settings for that particular instrument, since the keyboard is split for two, since it would not know which to show.
I can use Controller Editor to split the keyboard to activate 2 different channels and allocate them different colours. BUT, to apply this in Logic I need to enter "MIDI Mode", otherwise known as using my own light guide template, which unfortunately also applies it's knob presets, which are blank. In other words, I cannot edit just the light guide / channel allocation of keys, because with it comes the knob settings.
Currently I have to constantly switch between playing mode (MIDI Mode) and editing mode.

I'll need to add that I'm using the S61's Mk1, and KK v2.
Further research shows this MAY be possible in newer versions. DAMN IT! Mk1 cannot update beyong this version.

Well, if that can make you feel better, it's the same with MK2 and MK3 keyboards, the MIDI assignments are only for the MIDI mode, when in Komplete Kontrol/normal mode, everything is integrated.
