Leap Extension - How to create virtual instruments?

I recently bought a bundle that includes a Leap extension set. It has some nice loops in the kits, and I see that I can find each one as a sample. One particular key will trigger each loop in the sampler.

I really like a couple of the instrument sounds and want to make virtual instruments of them so I can play my own riffs, etc. How can I do this outside of pulling the wavs into Logic's sampler? Is this possible in Leap? The instruments section does not appear to have any tagging associating the instruments with the loop kits, not even sure if they use the same instruments.

I'm not sure what you mean creating your own virtual instrument. Actually I don't really understand what you're trying to achieve. Can you develop?

Jeremy - I like, for example, the sound of the bass in the loop, Bass[129] G# Tedesco.wav from the Leap Italo Disco kit. I want to use it for my own bassline, controlled by MIDI.

It may already be in the scores of instruments provided with the Discoteka Keys, but their names are in no way related to the loops, so the only way to find out is to go through every instrument one at a time to see.

Logic's stock sampler allows me to bring in a sample, slice it, and then create an instrument controlled by MIDI from the slice. I'm asking if there is a way to do this in Leap's sampler, or as an alternative, if there is a way to track down the instruments used in the samples.

    Ok I understand now.

So you just need to choose New Leap Preset:

Then navigate through the loop samples:

Then you can drag and drop the loops:

I invite you to check the Kontakt 8 manual here: https://www.native-instruments.com/fileadmin/ni_media/downloads/manuals/kontakt/Kontakt_User_Guide_English_0225.pdf

Nope. That just sets the individual wav on a single key. It does not allow me to use the instrument and play different notes. C3 has the full wav file. Remaining keys are all "Empty Slot".

Appears from the manual that it needs to be switched from Group to Single mode, which is not available in Leap with the Kontakt Player 8, but rather only in full version. That explains it…Leap has limited functionality in Kontakt Player, and gives no indication what functions are not available.
