You're probably better off asking over on either the UAudio forum (for Apollo) or the Akai forum (for MPC) questions. Having said that, check that your Windows audio settings use the same bit rate/depth as you have set in MPC. If they're different that can cause problems.

That's expected behaviour and usually what people want. If you're producing, you don't want audio coming in from anywhere else. ASIO is also specifically designed that way - exclusive audio to/from one app.

It's usually recommended to route computer audio to your onboard sound (i.e. Realtek) so that it doesn't go anywhere near your ASIO interface.

If you have a multi-client or dual driver interface tho you can run both ASIO and WASAPI drivers at the same time allowing for both a dedicated application for ASIO and general audio at the same time. The trick (as mentioned by @mykejb is to ensure both the DAW and Windows Audio is using the same sample rates. They use separate pipelines so audio from Windows has no bearing on the ASIO channel allowing stable low latency DAW operation and additional shared audio applications in Windows .

Please note, I did not say it wasn't possible. I provided an explanation and offered recommendations.

Most ASIO drivers are not multi client.
