sustain pedal not working again

hi my regular m audio sustain pedal stopped working a year ago or so and i couldnt get a replacement since

bought an expression pedal first that i tried to modify though getting a separate sustain pedal sounded more reasonable

now i just unpacked it it's new and not working already tried all the steps online youtube etc

The switch setting is wrong for an expression pedal, you have to set it to continuous or what the other setting is called like. Or do you have 2 pedals, one expression pedal and one switch pedal? The setting on input b is correct for an expression pedal as far a I can see.

yes i bought a second one cause the expression couldnt be routed still not working though

But is the second one an expression pedal, then try it on port b with.that settings. If it's a switch pedal with a mono plug TS (not TRS like an expression pedal has) disable the ring or set it to some other cc you don't need and use it on a with the settings you have + the change I describe. I would also suggest to try just one pedal first on port a, if thats working the next one on port b. So just concentrate on one device at a time.
