Session Horns - What a disappointment!

I bought Session Horns as a separate product. It wasn't cheap either and nowhere was I told beforehand that I would not be able to play a solo instrument with keyswitches for articulation changes, a pretty basic requirement, or so you would have thought.

I wanted my money back but Native Instruments refused and treated me badly so I refuse to buy any more of their products. Yes I could have got that functionality by upgrading to the "Session Horns Pro" version, but that one product is about one third the price of the Komplete Ultimate bundle so very poor value. Not only that but the upgrade prices on the full version of Kontakt are ridiculous for little benefit. I don't want my hard disk filled with other stuff which I will never use so my opinion of Native Instruments and Kontakt is very negative I'm afraid.

It's crucial to do research before you buy something. The information is all there.

Luckily, you can easily re-sell stuff:

I think that as in the description of Pro version they say “You can also play each instrument solo with ultimate realism”, they could also put in the standard version (maybe where they say “Play the whole four-piece section or divide into classic subsections, playing only two trumpets, or just sax and trombone, for example.”) that solo instruments are available ONLY in the Pro version.

It is true that nowadays we have many videos and reviews to have informations, but the correct ones should be given by the company itself, not counting on other’s work or thinking anyone will look 100 videos before buying.

That would be a good service given to their users
