Kontakt 8.1.0 extremely sluggish, unusable.

Mac Studio M2 Max 4TB / 64GB / 12CPU / 30 GPU / Sonoma 14.7.2.

I launch Kontakt 8.1.0 standalone, and the interface responds to mouse clicks after a few seconds delay each time. E.g. I click on an instrument and wait 3 seconds for it to become highlighted. I double-click and wait a few seconds for anything to happen. With any instrument loaded, I click a star to favorite a preset and wait 3 seconds for the star to light up. I click the gear to import a new library and no dialog appears for perhaps 5 seconds.

I am not having problems with Kontakt 7.10.7. For me this is a Kontakt 8 issue.

I have rebooted my computer, tried changing multiprocessor settings, nothing works.

Is this a known issue? Are there any fixes or workarounds? Thank you

Have you checked the basics ? such as :

ALL NI apps including NTKDaemon must have full disk access. : How to Enable Full Disk Access on macOS

and disks must be of correct format : Notes on Network Drives and Disk Formats

And quote Kymeia : if using Sequoia then N.I. apps must be added to the Local Network

Ah , yes , sorry , Truth42 uses Mac not you.

Are you using any network drives or folders synced with cloud drives ? Computers has been seen to be less responsive if using network or cloud drives even if not used by Kontakt. You can try turning off network access to see if that makes any difference. Also you can check for other software that is running at the same time. Usually the network drive use only gives e.g. cracks and not as massive delays as described by you here but still worth checking I think.

Also what is your graphics settings and what display do you use ?
