Kontakt doesnt load plugin properly - what can I do?
Hello people!
I have some drumcomputers and tried to load them with Kontakt 8 (and 7) and they look completely broken and make no sound. I will attach some pictures of the broken interface.
Support doesnt help me (just told me to connect a audio interface, which… i of course have) and i cannot find this problem anywhere in the forum!
Did anyone have similar problems or knows how to handle this?
I reinstalled everything already! My DAW is Studio one 6 artist.
Thanks in advance!

@ThomasL Maybe my colleagues were not clear enough. This symptom is usually caused by a wrong audio driver chosen for the Kontakt standalone application, it's not about the soundcard.
Open Kontakt in standalone and make sure to select an ASIO driver if you're on Windows or a Core Audio driver if you're on Mac. Then close it and open Kontakt in your DAW to see ig the issue was resolved.

Hello Jeremy, thanks for the answer!
Nope, it did not work. Funnily it looks now different, but still doesnt show the background graphics and makes no sound at all!
I did it with the newest ASIO4all driver0 -
The ASIO4All driver is not a proper ASIO driver and should never be used with any NI product. AND espeically not with Studio One.
You need to consider getting a real audio interface - that is designed to work with Studio One first. Once that hurdle is cleared - all your Kontakt product will fall in line.
Also - please do not post your Studio One product key on these forums - it can lead to massive trouble for you if someone decides to scoop your key.

I have a real Audio Interface (focusrite scarlett 2i2).
If i open standalone mode, choose my interface and asio driver (not the asio4all) - it still shows no graphics and makes no sound.
I am working with Kontakt Player since years and this never happened with studio one and my audio interface. this happened just few days ago after some upate. So my normal "path" should be fine.
Thanks for the reminder about studio one, you are right!0 -
What exact libraries are displaying strange in Kontakt? And are there any libraries that are displaying just fine?
As far as your interface goes - get rid of all traces of ASIO4All and ensure you are using nothing but the latest Focusrite drivers for your interface.
It is a very solid, very much used interface with Studio One and should not provoke any of the Kontakt issues you are seeing.
I still think your issues are a library specific issue we need to isolate.VP

Well, I never knew that.
(I have had numerous commercial CDs published, with various versions of Kontakt in various versions of Windows, over the last 20 years or so, on a variety of computers, using exclusively ASIO4ALL and the native soundcard, with no problems whatsoever).

If it works for you - it works for you.
But in this case - Studio One is the DAW and even Presonus does not want anything to do with ASIO4All.
Plus the fact the OP has a Focusrite - which is very established standard for S1- I have no idea why we are even talking about ASIO4All.

Just correcting misinformation. I prefer to spend money on stuff that I actually need, and will make a difference.
(The advice you give us is generally pretty sound - all the more reason for correction when you're a bit off course!)

so is it happening with all your libraries or only for some? Which ones exhibit this issue? Which ones load normally? Do the libraries show a broken GUI in standalone as well? Did you update some libraries recently?
