Komplete Kontrol mk3 and Vienna ensemble pro server

Hi, with the komplete kontrol mk2 I cannot use with Vienna ensemble pro server the kontakt instruments used on the server in Cubase 14 that are loaded there as komplete konrol instruments there.

The KK mk2 keyboard does not show the instruments when connected in Cubase with Vienna ensemble pro setup.
However, directly in Cubase (without Vienna ensemble pro server) the KK mk2 keyboard shows all used contact libraries.

My question is : that new KKmk3 keyboard that works without komplete kontrol software plugin and can that work with vienna ensemble pro server software ?
When the KKmk3 keyboard is connected in Cubase to Vienna ensmbl pro server does it show all used kontakt instruments on heyt KKmk3 keyboard ?

So the contact instruments are immediately loaded into the new KKmk3 keyboard ?

Hope the question is clear ?
I am currently using the KKmk2 keyboard, but it does not seem to work with the Vienna ensemble pro software.

Hey there, I got more information. Given your setup, mk2 or mk3 will not make a difference. VEPro seems to break communication between the keyboard and the computer/DAW in this setup. It's expected behaviour.

@jandouma I am trying to find knowledgeable people about Vienna Ensemble pro, as I'm not. I can already point out a couple of things.

With the MK3 keyboard the integration is possible both with Kontakt 7 or 8 and Komplete Kontrol.

If I understand correctly, Cubase is a host of Vienna Ensemble Pro that is the host of Kontakt or Komplete Kontrol. It seems that this affects the integration with the keyboard. I'm not sure that using Kontakt instead of Komplete Kontrol will make everything work, that's why I reached out. I'll get back to you when I get more info/insight.

Hi Thanks, The new mk3 would directly load the kontakt libraries , without intervention of Komplete kontrol software.
What exactly this means for VEpro is not clear to me.
I would like to see the same as in a DAW and the mk2 keyboard , the same functionality also in VEPro
The communication is disconnected by VEpro , so it does not offer the same ease of use as in Cubase and according to that in my setup.
In any case, updating from an mk2 keyboard to a mk3 keyboard is not immediately necessary if you work with VEPro

No….. for now… The KK keyboard needs to be plugged to each computer……

I use VEP and Komplete Kontrol S61 MKII with a KVM. So in front of my KK 61 MKII I have a 27' Touch screen that I share with 4 computer (3 VEP Server & The main DAW computer) and on my KVM I have two USB input that be sharing also with all 4 computer for KK S61 & The touch of the screen.. working can control with my KK S61 all the komplete kontrl VST inside VEP…..

Thanks Home Studio , I only use 1 computer with the mk2 61 keyboard and do not do music productions.

‘ working I can use my KK S61 to control all Komplete Kontrol VST in VEP.....’

Compared to mk2 in Cubase and mk2 in VEPro, there is not the same functionality I thought
In Cubase with mk2, all sound libraries can be selected and the sounds in them can be listened to and that doesn't work in VEPro , but that shouldn't be an issue in my opinion

you can control Komplete Kontrol in the same way in VEP or in Cubase the only difference is that the KK S61 cannot control the VEP mixer etc……

Thanks, Looks like the mk2 keyboard acts as a regular midi keyboard in combination with the VEPro server
That means without sound browsing and mixer etc .

In my case, I am a simple user who can skip the VEPro setup and use midi rack instrument in Cubase to create a setup, ensuring the full functionality of mk2 in Cubase.
I think that's a better workflow , with my limited use of kontakt libraries

I am forced to use instruments tracks in windows , otherwise the functionality for listening to instruments on the KK2 mk2 is lost.
Hunderds of instruments to go thrue in order find the one starting with a t , with knob
Should be easier to use a touch display as extra for the sound selection ?

Combining my existing libraries with instrument tracks in Cubase or using VEPro, with midi tracks where the functionality for soundbrowsing and mixer is lost because KK@ mk 2 acts a a midicontroller
Don't know about the other functionality of KK2 if using a miditrack what is possible?
