Authorizing Kontakt Again and Again and Again and Again and Again and Again and Again

Hi everyone,

Well, this is the most annoying bug and I really tried everything.

My DAW (Nuendo 12) seems to push Kontakt 6.8 (full version) into Demo modus everytime again.

I now have a kind of workaround to close my project, re-authorize, keep a locally (native) Kontakt instant open, relauch my project, re-autherize again and usually (not always) the third time the DAW hosted Kontakt instances get the idea that maybe my plugins were authorized already the whole time.

But the next day, or everytime I restart my computer, the problem reoccurs. It only happens from within my DAW. I re-installed everything a bunch of times.

Any help is much appreciated!

Cheers,

Jerry Growl

Solved it! Runned wise registry cleaner after removing all Kontakt.dll files on my C drive, then re-installed Kontakt.

    Thank you!😊

@Jeremy_NI , this problem appear to need your knowledge and skill set , the profile of Jerry Growl says Windows 10 so if that can be trusted then that is the OS.

@Jerry Growl Are you running Cubase and Kontakt as admin? How to Run a Program as an Administrator

Also check your VST plugin folders setup in Cubase, look if there are duplicate Kontakt plugin files.

Thank you for trying to tune in on my problem.

Yes, Nuendo 12 is running as Administrator (properties → advanced → Run as administrator checked)

I don't have any registry cleaners running or even installed any more. Maybe I should?

I don't have any Kontakt.dll duplicates at the moment, but I used to have (last year). Maybe that's the problem. Back then I was using a 6.1 or 6.2 version of Kontakt as safety to be able to load older projects with libraries that changed location on my drives. Kontakt 6.7 and higher used to crash while reconnecting sample libraries. So that's when I switched between versions accordingly. That solved my problem back then. Anyway I've searched my drive for duplicates and there aren't any.

Since launching a natively hosted instance of Kontakt never seems te request re-authorizing but Nuendo 12 hosted instances always do, I'm also thinking it's a registry problem…

Any specific registry items I should want to check?

    Best,

    J

I'll start with removing all Kontakt.dll files from my pc and then re-install (just to be sure)
