Komplete Audio 6 mk2 (the latest version)’s digital out via spdif aka (coaxial /rca out)

I would like to know if the Komplete Audio 6 mk2 ‘s stereo digital out via spdif out 5/6 means the usb audio interface could act as a digital to digital converter to pass-on all audio signals (including midi in from my 5pin midi keyboard) to the next stage of amplification if i have a passive stereo speaker system, likely any external DAC which has a coaxial input will do just fine right?

Please correct me if i am wrong!

Thanks guys

Yes, the Komplete Audio 6 Mk2 can act as a digital-to-digital converter in this scenario. Here's how it works and what you need to know:

    1. SPDIF Output as a Digital Pass-Through

    • The SPDIF output (5/6) on the Komplete Audio 6 Mk2 can send digital audio signals from your computer or other connected inputs (via USB).
    • This means the interface does not convert the audio signal to analog but rather passes it digitally via SPDIF.

    2. MIDI Handling

    • MIDI signals from your 5-pin MIDI keyboard are not audio; they are control messages (notes, velocities, etc.).
    • To hear sound from MIDI input, you need a software instrument (a plugin or DAW) on your computer to generate the audio output.
    • Once the audio is generated in your software, it can be routed to SPDIF out (5/6) as part of the digital audio stream.
