KSMK3 Updater Error-2 , S61 Mk3 Dead on Arrival

My KSMK3 updater is stuck. At first it said it was updating but failed on error-2. Whenever I tried rerunning it and it hangs, I still tried additional power cable but my desktop definitely had enough power. I tried all my usb C ports and a usb C to A cable , multiple ports. I even tried to update on my laptop which doesn't even notice the installed firmware and serial number. Furthermore since the first firmware update crashed it says the firmware version is 0.0.1 when before it was like 0.0.2.4. Lastly, I now have the keyboard screen stuck on "looks like something went wrong please re-run the update on your computer. Get help at ni.de/kontrol-help"

I feel defeated and totally stuck. Ive had the product for a day and would like to return it. This may be the worst consumer experience I've ever had.

    The firmware update went through, and it took 4 hours to update. NI may want to consider rephrasing the firmware articles to include this duration, as they simply state it could take several minutes to complete 😂.
