Komplete Kontrol not loading plugins in Logic Pro X

OK so that suggests you have been using just VST2 plugins

Hi Kymeia,
I’ve just today turned on Rosetta to see if that helped. I still can’t get the VST3 to work in Komplete Kontrol so the problem still isn’t solved yet.
Thanks

Clearly part of the problem is solved, you are trying to run a lot of VST2 plugins on a system that doesn’t support them anymore. Rosetta is a temporary fix for those but it won’t be around forever, a long term solution would be moving to VST3 for use in Komplete Kontrol.
As to why some of your VST3 plugins aren’t showing, you need to be more specific, which ones and what are you seeing?

Hi Kymeia,
What I don’t understand is Komplete Kontrol used to load all the plugins without Rosetta, so what’s changed? I’ve tried to load virtually every plugin from the menu in Komplete Kontrol and nothing loads unless I turn on Rosetta. However I can use kontakt which will load all the same plugins without no problems. If kontakt is loading VST3 plugins then why can’t Komplete Kontrol and? It doesn’t make sense to me. I would suggest there must be an issue with Komplete Kontrol itself.
I understand that logic doesn’t use VST3 plugins but the AAU equivalent is that correct?
Thanks again for all your help it’s very much appreciated.

“What I don’t understand is Komplete Kontrol used to load all the plugins without Rosetta, so what’s changed?”
I don’t know because you didn’t mention that before, has anything changed on your system? Did you upgrade something?

Kontakt doesn’t load plugins, only sample libraries. This is one reason why I asked you to be specific about what is not loading, because if there is a problem with loading sample libraries that is going to be a very different issue and solution to a problem loading plugins. So are some of your Kontakt libraries not showing in Komplete Kontrol?
“I understand that logic doesn’t use VST3 plugins but the AAU equivalent is that correct?”
If you are loading plugins directly into Logic it uses AU, but Komplete Kontrol uses VST3 (and VST2 but only in Rosetta mode)

Thanks Kymeia, I’ll put together a list of what’s not loading, apologies I should have done that in the first place. As you can probably tell I’m quite new to all this. 😀
Thanks

Hi Keyeia,
I just wondered if my terminology could be incorrect. I can load a plug-in like Alicia Keys or Pharlight but when I go to load a preset that’s when the error comes up saying can’t load plugin.

Both of those are Kontakt libraries - if Komplete Kontrol is saying it can’t load the plugin it is really referring to the Kontakt plugin which it uses to load Kontakt libraries. Hence my question at the start about do you have Kontakt installed and available in KK as a VST3 because in my experience sometimes Logic users make the assumption that because Logic uses AU plugins they don’t need to install the VST3 so haven’t. Can you load Kontakt at all in Komplete Kontrol?

It’s Fixed!!
I rescanned Komplete Kontrol in Logic and there were no plugins showing, once scanned everything was as it should be and it works fine now. Like an idiot I’d rescanned the standalone plugin, DAH!!!
Thanks for all your help and patience, a newbie mistake.
