Kontakt - Noise (after a while) on moving XY pad

I have just bought Scene : Saffron. I have been using Kontakt 7 standalone to explore the presets and have been extensively using the XY pad with a mouse. After several minutes I get a crackle every time I move the XY pad with the mouse. There is no crackle when the pad isn't moving. The problem steadily increases with use (louder crackle, and then the XY pad starts jumping rather than moving smoothly). If I restart Kontakt the problem is immediately absent, everything works well, until a few minutes have passed when the problem repeats.

Any ideas?
