How do I restore saved presets in KK

I've recently rolled back Komplete Kontrol to Version 2.9.6, and in the process had to strip out the old install. This has solved every problem, but also created a new one.

When I load a Logic Project, the Komplete Kontrol instances don't have any instruments or sounds loaded up. Clearly I've removed the file that stores the presets for KK. Fortunately I still have the files I removed in the recycle bin. My question is this: which file or files do I need to put back in order to restore my presets?

have you loaded KK standalone and let it scan your NKS files? That’s all you should have to do.

Thanks for the reply Jester. Yes I did do that. The problem is, as I did the manual uninstall as per the instructions on Native Access, this takes out certain system files which contain the information for the choice of instruments and patches. What I need to know is which files they are so that I can put them back in their correct place and return to the instruments and patches loading automatically.

If anyone can advise which files these are, I'd be most grateful.

Assuming you have reinstalled all your factory content, you probably need to just add back any user presets you have saved which would have been in documents/native instruments/user content

Thanks Kymeia I will give that a go. Just to clarify, it's not User edited versions of the patches that I'm looking to regain, it's the instrument selection and the loading of the factory presets within them. I have all the presets installed, it's just KK doesn't know which ones to load when I load a project in Logic.

As long as you have the right presets and plugins it's Logic that should recall that as that data is meant to be stored in the host project - it sounds like KK is missing some of the presets or plugins that were used before (or their NKS patches?). This might be because you rolled back from KK3 to KK2.9.6 - are you still using the same plugin format? (ie VST3)

Hello again. Thanks for your suggestions so far.

I'm just working through this problem now. To be clear, the problem is exclusive to Komplete Kontrol, there are no missing libraries or instruments - everything is there, even user presets. When I load a Logic project, as usual, it knows that I want KK to load on a given track. What has gone missing is the instruction from KK to call up the Instrument and then the Preset. All the instruments and presets exist in the Mac, but what I am trying to restore is the automatic loading of them. Nothing has changed on Logic, but of course I have manually uninstalled all of Komplete Kontrol 3.3.3 as per instructions on Native Access, and then rolled back to 2.9.6.

I have nearly 400 projects spanning over about 5 years, and there's no way I'm going to remember which preset I used on all of them, so I need this feature back. I'm hoping the solution is as simple as restoring the correct file(s) but I don't know which files they are. That's where I'm hoping someone here could help.

This is what I currently have in the bin - can restoring any of these solve the problem?
