edited November 2024 in Komplete Kontrol

The last discussion was closed after customers apparently voiced their opinions , so I'm hoping we can start a new discussion regarding the current roadmap of Komplete Kontrol 3x Updates.

First question, what's actually on the current developers weekly/monthly updates/features and plans for v3x ?

Also how about some news on getting power users involved in the current beta.

Bugfix would be cool, KK3.3.3 crashes the host on macOS Sequoia :)

    That's not true.

It was closed as it was outdated (that thread referred almost entirely to things that have now shipped, or are about to), and in anticipation of an upcoming updated outlook for 2025.

Well to have a 2025 outlook os not the right answer by then the controller will be almost 2 years old.. I was hoping that you were going to announce bugs fixes to especially slow loading kontrol software on windows.. that should be the main focus. I dont care about any other features make the software usable on windows 11..

Outlooks/Roadmaps are high level, focussed on big features we intend to build.

The last outlook covered things like MIDI Templates and Play Assist.

As those are shipped (or soon to ship), the focus now turns to what to expect out of 2025 (e.g. Accessibility, and other things)

Bug fixing is ongoing support and maintenance, and not something we'd discuss in an outlook.

You seem to be experiencing a specific bug → have you contacted customer support to make any reports? I don't know what exactly might be happening, other than you're on Windows and it's slow for you.

Thanks for the clarification Matt_NI , I stand corrected.

I’m hoping we can keep an open dialogue and healthy discussion regarding the progress and development of v3.

I presume Play Assist ARP mode is likely to be next

Plus I really hope sub banks will finally be fixed soon

Hoping too that drag and drop of samples into plugins and DAWs will be fixed, ideally with a side browser mode as in Kontakt 8

Finally for me, in terms of returning functionality that was lost we need to get full NKS editing back for properties - ideally in an improved form (eg bank name editing and moveable user pages)

Then it would be great if some attention could be given to FX - with FX automation, saveable chains and a dedicated FX version

That’s most of my wish list for the most pressing issues :)

Longer term I would love a multi mode and more complex routing of instruments and FX

Yes. Then maybe start work on the many suggestions from users around improving the browser again, we can only hope.

I will say I admire your patience and the fact you still hold hope even after 10+ years of waiting for the same things to happen.

Are NI teams all mobilized ahead of upcoming hardware releases ahead of NAMM (new Maschine, compact Kontrol S) etc?

tbh, I don’t expect any new S keyboards or Maschine. It’s too soon to update the S line and they have been pretty specific about that there’s no new Maschine hw in the near future

I think it's just they are all only back from Monday after a break so probably dealing with a huge backlog - plus there has been some internal reorganisation of managers I gather

There is definitely more hardware in the pipeline.
Maschine is bound to see a new iteration this year.
Also Matthew_NI had hinted at a MK3 version (unless it’s a mix between S line and M32 line) that is less than 49 and more than 32 keys at the time of S MK3 release in Oct23. So my money is on an S series or similar with 32 or 37 mini keys for portability.
