Kontakt 8 & Cubase Quick Controls bug
Hi there,
There is a bug happening on my system with Kontakt 8 and Cubase 13 Quick Controls.
Here are the steps to reproduce it :
1) Create a Kontakt 8 instrument track in Cubase
2) Load a patch (for my test, I'm using the "Strings High - Main" patch from Spitfire Audio's Albion V - Tundra, but this issue is not related to this particular library)
3) Assign 4 Track Quick Controls to the 4 microphone faders (I do think the issue is reproducible with any Kontakt parameter you can find in the "Host Parameter" list)
4) Right click on the instrument track and disable it.
5) Right click again and enable the track
6) Quick Controls are lost
Some notes :
- I'm 100% sure I never had this issue with Kontakt 7, seems really connected to 8
- At the beginning, I thought it was only happening with track migrated from previous Kontakt instances (like the "long saving time" bug), but it also happens with entirely new Kontakt 8 tracks
- Sometimes, for some reason, the bug doesn't happen, but it seems like once it does, every Kontakt instance enabled after that has the issue until I restart Cubase.
Really hope NI can identify this issue and fix it ! As someone heavily relying on those Quick Controls to manage microphone positions in a big, nasty orchestral template, this is driving me crazy. Thanks for your help !
Emmanuel

UPDATE : Sorry, I was wrong about 1 point : it does only happen with auto-migrated instances.

Hey @Emmanuel Rousseau I'm not sure that auto-migration includes any assignment like you did in Cubase. I'll try to get more information and clarification on the topic.

Also, could you clarify your initial step by step for a repro on our side? You mention it's only happening with auto-migrated instances so the first steps don't make sense, or did I misunderstand?

Hey @Jeremy_NI ,
Indeed I made a mistake in my step by step.
What I did to "reset" the Kontakt 8 Instrument track after it was migrated from Kontakt 7 was just removing Kontakt from the instrument track itself, and make it empty. I thought it would be enough, but it isn't. In this case, the bug occurs. It doesn't occur if I create a 100% new instrument track.
I'm afraid this isn't super clear, so I made a short video to show you the problem.
The first track I'm showcasing is from my template, auto-migrated from Kontakt 7. It will lose the Quick Controls.
Then, you'll see me creating the exact same track from scratch, and everything will works as expected.
Hope this is more clear!https://youtu.be/W9u9Uqg6rTY?si=D0L_kdY9KS0gNQyU
