Is there an quality control issue with the S88 Mk3

There's so much to like about the S88 Mk3, especially the feel of the keyboard, but I've had two delivered this week and both had faults. The first had poor calibration of a single, mid-range note - whilst seemingly a small issue, a frequently used note that produces higher than expected velocity qualues is a big problem. The second, had a more obvious defect: the lowest three black notes cause the adjacent white notes to depress. I'm tempted to try a third, but the hassle and delay caused by such issues is very frustrating. Are there wider concerns about quality control with the S88 Mk3?

Not had or seen anything close to those issues. Are you buying them from the same place?

Just makes me wonder how they're being stored and handled so if this is a shop/store or delivery thing.

I find the packaging less than adequate on the S88 Mk3 - from memory I don't think the keys had any kind of polystyrene insert to stop them from rocking around?

I just remember being surprised at how little protection there was in the box in general actually. It's entirely possible these boxes get kicked around, turned on their side, rolled over by various couriers and warehouses. So the fact that you've had two in a row, and if it's from the same place would make me question such elements.

In the top right corner of mine the one thing I did notice is that the casing appeared a little discoloured (lighter), but I wiped it and was fine. Seemed almost like a patch of condensation, So I also wonder if damp can creep into the packaging depending on where they're stored?

I agree about the limited protection - the box is quite flimsy. The two keyboards were purchased from different companies, and I am having to wait for a refund on the first unit until it is received back, and I suspect the same will be true of the second. It's very disappointing and not a little depressing, though no pun intended given the nature of the issue (several keys depressing simultaneously!).

no hardware quality issues with mine, and mine was shipped perfectly fine.
The only issue I’ve come across is with the velocity settings with Kontakt 8 , I’m working with tech support and they’ve identified the issue. So it should have a fix released soon.
