STANDALONE KONTAKT 8 ISSUE

I have just installed Kontakt 8. I find some of the instruments are greyed out/ not recognized in this version of Kontakt 8 int he loop / one-shots sections. The wave samples also will not load into an instrument when clicked. A dialogue box appears: "the file format is not support or corrupt." Loading Kontakt 8 in Fl Studio doesn't seem to have quite the same issue. The instruments are still greyed out, but individual wave file do load.

Also, loading the same file in Kontakt 7 has no issues. Is there a bug that needs attention with the latest version of Kontakt?

    Hey!

I’ve encountered similar issues! Here’s what you can try:

First, ensure you have the latest version of Kontakt 8 installed, as updates can resolve bugs. Next, go into Preferences and re-scan your libraries to refresh the instrument list.

Check that the file formats are compatible if instruments are still greyed out. Since they load fine in Kontakt 7, there may be a specific issue with Kontakt 8.

If the problem persists, contact Native Instruments support—they might have more insights into this bug.

I hope this helps! If you find this useful, please consider giving it a like.

Can you check what version K8 is at when in FL Studio (click on the NI logo), is it the same as the standalone version? Please try resetting K8's database:

    Reinitialize the Kontakt Database

    1. Click the Windows start button at the bottom left of your screen.
    2. Type "%localappdata%" and click the option that appears.
    3. Navigate to the Native Instruments folder.
    4. Then, depending on the Kontakt version you are using, delete the following folder:
      Kontakt 5: "Kontakt 5"
      Kontakt 6: "Kontakt"
      Kontakt 7: "Kontakt 7"
      Kontakt 8: "Kontakt 8"
    5. Start Kontakt in standalone mode (not in your DAW).
