The gentleman bad sounding

I have a piano VST, “The Gentleman” by Native Instruments, which came with my KeyLab Essential. Without touching any settings, the piano sound is terrible. However, when I watch videos on YouTube of the same VST, the sound quality is great, even without any adjustments—just installing the VST and playing with the MIDI controller. There’s also another piano VST from Native Instruments called “Noire,” but I suspect I’ll face the same issue. How can I get a good sound? I’m using the VST without a DAW, so there are no adjustments after playing the piano; I’m referring to the raw sound coming out of the VST into my speakers or headphones. I’ve tried tweaking some settings, which improved the sound slightly, but the core issue remains: the base sound is still bad even after adjustments.

    Hello,

can you describe a bit more what you mean with bad sound, what audio interface do you use and is it set up correctly, like on windows with the asio driver?

    Hello,

When I say bad sound it’s like the sound right of the box is not tuned. It sounds like a bad guitar, the notes don’t make a warm sound like a real piano. Look at this video in YouTube (the gentleman part):

The title is : Native Instruments Piano Reviews (Grandeur, Gentleman, Maverick, Alicia Keyes, Una Corda, The Giant)

The sound is warm without any settings touched, mine doesn’t sound like this. I don’t have an external audio interface, I own a MacBook Air M2, 16gb of ram. I didn’t do any setup with Mac OS. I tested the sound with multiple headphones, earphones, speakers. When I play the video from YouTube the sound is great on all of them, but with my VST this is not the case. I’m sure there is a way to make it sound good.

If you use kontakt stand alone, can you check the audio settings, what sampling frequency is set and so on.
