Kontakt's Missing Content Error in Old Cubase Project - Stuck in Demo Mode
Hi,
I'm encountering a Missing Content error message in Kontakt when loading an old project in Cubase. The error reads:
"Kontakt: One or more Kontakt instances cannot be recalled correctly, perhaps due to missing content. Please open any Kontakt instance in your host, Komplete Kontrol or Maschine to resolve the issue."
I have Komplete 14 Ultimate, but this project was created using Kontakt 5 and uses Rickenbacker Bass and Analog Dreams.
Here’s what happens when I load the project:
- All instruments in Kontakt’s menu (left panel) display a small "Activate" tab/tag and show a blank main page with a "DEMO" label at the top.
- Clicking the "Activate" tag only opens Native Access (NA), but nothing changes.
Per a suggestion from an NI service agent, I downgraded Native Access to version 3.2.3 using these directions. Unfortunately, even after a full system restart, the project still opens in Demo Mode, and the "Activate" button continues to send me to Native Access with no further resolution.
Does anyone know of a way to resolve this issue?
All the best,

Hello,
at least analog dreams will not open anymore in kontakt 5 if you have the latest version installed of analog dreams. There is an older installer available for analog dreams that could run in kontakt 5. If you just used a patch you could open kontakt 7 and replace kontakt 5 with it. Rickenbacker bass on the other hand should work as far as I know.
Cubase should auto port to k7 but I'm not sure if it works only from k6 or from K5 too, but obviously in your case it's not working so I guess it only works from k6 to k7
