This is a simple trick that when done right and tastefully can give your song a vibe.

STEP 1

play a simple loop as simple or complex as you want, for example a simple chord progression with gentleman piano, but you can layer instruments and melodies.

STEP 2

transpose the midi up an octave and make it play double speed (you can transpose any amount of semitone if you don't care of the key of the song, as long it is a bit high pitch over all)

STEP 3

insert an instance of Guitar Rig 7 and use tape wobble and noise machine (in this order) to give it an analog feel (you can play with other effects as long this two modules are at the end of the chain)

STEP 4

export your sample in wav and drag it in the maschine sampler

STEP 5

chose a mode (standard, MP60, S1200 etc..) and pitch down 12 semitones and now you have your original sample that you played but way sexier!! :D

STEP 6 (creative choice)

you can leave it as it is or chop it and rearrange it, or destroy it as much you want.

EXTRA TIP

I generally avoid doing it with bass instruments as I like them clean and fat and this will degrade the quality of it

it fills like chopping a 70's record!
