@LoveEnigma I don't think they mean Maschine Expansions by that but rather those new Leap Expansions.

Yes, I was thinking the same, but that article made me think differently, especially because at least for Loops and One Shots tab it is surely talking about (Maschine) Expansions.
If Leap is a sampler, it would make sense to use Expansions with it though. What do you think?

I wonder what the plan is for Battery which loads Maschine expansions.

I'm a simple man, I want simple things. Allow me to midi-learn the next preset/previous preset buttons and I'd be happy.

Battery is at the end of development, if they want to continue with Expansions, they need them to be loadable into something NI is interested in keeping alive (i. e. Kontakt).

Exactly. I always wished there was Battery 5, but we probably don't need it these days.

That is just it. What happens when the previous version of Kontakt no longer loads and works?
Anyone who is on Mac can take a few moments to tell you how this goes once the Mac OS version OR their hardware (which may ship with a new OS version) hits a certain level in the future.
There comes a point when these users must migrate or never be able to open that old project - ever again.

Will Komplete Kontrol get the same update?

Kontakt 8 brings drag and drop functionality, which is awesome. Thank you, NI.
Will Komplete Kontrol software follow the same in an update soon? Please.

I see there are…
Instruments, Combined, Tools, Leap, Loops, One-shots, then Brand, Sound Type and finally Character.
Then I search for AFRO, trying to reach AFROBEATS and it is only offered when I happen to select Leap
or Loops.
Do you thing it will be of much help having another option in addition to those mention above, named
something like Anywhere so I do not have to go searching tabs in search of what I search ?
I select Anywhere, type AFRO and it is shown…Great !!!!
Greetings.

You can't rely on them working in future.
There are several threads on the forum about how Native Instruments sometime in the last few months broke Kontakt 6 compatibility for existing DAW sessions for some libraries (with no warning or even any hint it might happen, the change was not advertised or available in release notes; it was a configuration change applied by Native Access, which I am not even sure has release notes). Leaving users in a situation where we either have to downgrade to older library versions even if we also own a newer version of Kontakt, or hack the system (my approach) so that the configuration allows you to use the newer library version in old DAW sessions with Kontakt 6.
The day may come when neither of these approaches works and then those old sessions are dead.
There is also the possibility that an OS update renders old sessions unusable, though that is in my experience much exaggerated in respect to its frequency. But still to be kept in mind.
Rendering to audio is one possible solution. Migrating is, for me, a better solution. Rendering takes a lot of space, and despite hard drive storage being cheap, it's not as cheap if you want to stick to SSDs as I do, and over time those renders really add up, with most of them never being necessary.

Ok, I'm pretty new to all this, and I do have an S61 MK3. Can I ask what are you expecting from Kontakt 8 in regard with the MK3 ?

If so Kontakt needs to reach parity on certain things found in Battery, better third party grid and groove player UX and new features like better third party MPE UX.
